Bread is one of the most common and lovable breakfast item which is enjoyed by people of all ages.
Milk Bread is one of the best breads which is as soft as cotton ball, its mild sweet flavour is so great that one can enjoy eating it directly the moment it is baked and cooled down,no need to toast also.
Ingredients:
3 cups of Maida-All purpose flour
1.5 Tsp Salt
3 Tbsp Sugar
3 Tbsp Milk Powder
1.5 tsp-Yeast
1 cup Water
Butter for greasing and applying on the bread top once baked
Method:
In a big bowl add the flour, milk powder, sugar and mix all of them together with the help of a whisker
Then add the dry yeast in it and pour water in it and bind the ingredients to a soft dough
Do not add salt at this stage with yeast else it will kill the yeast instead of helping it ferment.
Alternatively the same can be done in a blender or food processor as it needs to be kneaded very well.
Pour butter in the mixer and mix well and keep on binding atleast for 2-3 minutes .
Stretch the dough to see if it is properly kneaded. If it stretches easily into a thin layer and appears transpararent it indicates the dough is properly done.
Now gently shape the dough into a soft ball bringing all sides to one end and combining it.
Keep the bowl in a big container as it will double in size after fermentation
Now add salt to the dough.
Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and keep it aside for 60 minutes to rest and ferment.
After 60 minutes open and check ,if you pinch the dough it can be made out it come up immediately that means the dough is properly risen,.
Punch out the air from the dough and knead it again making into a loaf shape .Do the kneading for atleast 5-7 minutes
Then cut the dough into three parts and keep them in baking tray by folding it and allow it to rest in it for another 40 minutes so that the dough will take its shape while rising in the baking tray.
After 30 minutes brush little milk on the buns which are all set to bake.
Put in a preheated oven @ 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and apply butter on the top of the bread and then cover the bread with plastic wrap and let it cool for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes remove the plastic wrap and unmould the bread bun from the baking tray.Allow it to to cool down completely.
Soft milk bread is ready to be served and eaten
Please take care:Salt is not to be added alongwith Yeast as it will kill the dry yeast instead of activating it at this moment
